* SUNCUIUS
2 days. With friends from my church. Great weather. [1-2]
What was special about it?
-slept in tents (I haven’t done it since 2003) that we carried in our hands (together with absolutely everything -clothes, food, volleyball,..) from home until there (never did such a thing)
-it was the first time I went in a trip organised by & with ppl younger than me & without any adult leader;
-I have never carried such a large amount of luggage for such a long time before in my life; seemed easy at first, but after 15-20 minutes, everything hurt; (you don’t know what’s in that bag that we’re both carrying!!)
-never have I gone with hands in pocket on a train, as I did on the way back, because Danu had taken the luggage with a van
-swam in a large & furious mountain river for the first time. the water was speedily taking us down the river;
-fought with mud;
-watched a couple of rock climbers from a very short distance; been wanting to see it for real & also do it, for a long time..
-gathered lumber for the food and the fire-camp, sang around it for several hours at night, talked to 2 Czech students who came 2 listen 2 our songs;
-discovered new things in the young people in my church;
-listened 2 some of their testimonies;
-washed ourselves, our clothes and our dishes in the same river..
)
-climbed on a side of the mountain one day;
-& on the mountain across the road the next day; awesome scenery;
-had a lot of fun on a metal bridge;
#4. The next day, we took Karissa in a mini-tour of Romania:
* TEBEA -Gorunul lui Avram Iancu
* HUNEDOARA – Castelul corvinestilor
*perfect timing here: we had no idea about the fest “The days of Hunedoara castle”, but we went there in its last day. We had the unique opportunity to meet people dressed in medieval-like clothes who camped there for 3 days.
The young squire in the photo was from another city in Romania, but is part of an order, Ordinul Cavalerilor de Medias , in another medieval city, which I really want to see one day.
The ladies danced, the knights let us look at their weapons they had made. It was awesome.
They even had a 3D screen where you could see how different buildings were built in a certain period. Wish I had more time to watch it!
******* CETATEA DEVEI
-had to walk up through a forest top get there;
Found snails on the way.
The city Deva seen from near the old fortress.

* I spent 2 days at my grandpa’s too. [8-9]
* With the youth choir we went an sang in a church in Chisinau Cris. [10 aug]
Many of the students and graduates in our church went into a camp at Saulia -about 106 people. [11-17 aug]
* After 6 years, we went to the Black Sea again. [20-27 aug] Mangalia is the town where we stayed in a neat rented apartment. At noon it was too hot, so we went back to our apartment, ate and sometimes had a nap. We cooked our food every day -couldn’t have managed to go otherwise.
Each one of us loved the sand, the salty water and the waves.
One afternoon, we went on a our of the resort towns on the sea coast with a tour train. The most interesting part was coming back from there on foot, throught the 5 towns. The towns were swarming with people going shopping or looking for fun activities.
On our last day we went to another town near the sea: Mamaia. It was a totally different experience: there were no waves at all and the level of the water was low and constant on a large area close to the shore. It was a kind of bay near a large hotel.
